Founder & President, Helping Hearts NGO
I have always believed that kindness has the power to transform lives.
After completing my schooling at St. Anne’s High School, Pune, and graduating with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) from Narsee Monjee College, I devoted over 35 years of my life to teaching Mathematics and Science. Teaching was not just my profession—it was my passion.
My journey into social work began with a simple decision: I chose not to charge tuition fees from students whose families could not afford an education. As I got to know these children better, I realized that education was only one of the many challenges they faced. Many came to class without books, school supplies, proper clothing, or even enough food to eat.
What began as free tuition soon became a mission to provide books, stationery, ration kits, and other essential support. I could not ignore the hardships these families were facing. Wanting to do more, I reached out to a few close friends and cousins who shared the same compassion for helping others. Together, we formed a small group dedicated to serving those in need.
With each passing year, the number of people seeking help continued to grow. What started as a handful of acts of kindness gradually evolved into a much larger humanitarian effort. To ensure that this work could continue in a structured and transparent manner, Helping Hearts NGO was officially registered in 2017.
Today, Helping Hearts works to bring hope and dignity to vulnerable individuals and families through education, healthcare, food assistance, livelihood support, emergency relief, and community welfare initiatives. Alongside our humanitarian work, we are deeply committed to the welfare of animals, rescuing, treating, feeding, and caring for abandoned, injured, and homeless animals with love and compassion.
At Helping Hearts, we do not believe in seeing religion, caste, or background—we see humanity. Every child deserves an education, every family deserves dignity, every patient deserves hope, and every animal deserves love and care.
My dream is to build a world where compassion is not an occasional act but a way of life. I warmly invite you to join us in this journey. Whether you choose to volunteer, donate, or simply spread awareness, your support can change lives and bring hope where it is needed most.
Together, we can make life more liveable for people and animals facing hardship.
With gratitude,
